Donald D. Summerville Pool is at the bottom of Woodbine Avenue not Coxwell. It is named after a very dedicated politician. In his era, I believe, he was an alderman. The term Olympic denotes size.  –  Margaret S.

The pool is named after a mayor of Toronto. It is called Olympic because it has a standard 50 m. length pool, which is used for Olympic swimming events. Also there is a regulation-sized diving tower. – Linda B.
