Jennifer Valentyne – LiveEye from the Beaches

Beaches resident, Jennifer Valentyne, has been the LiveEye Host for Breakfast Television at Citytv for 16 years. That’s 16 years of adventure around the GTA, doing everything from milking a goat at the Royal Winter fair to trying out a flying trapeze at Circus School.

Jennifer travels each morning to locations around and beyond the GTA, giving viewers a “live eye” account of events in and around our city.

love your work…
I love that I meet new people every day, get to go places and do amazing things.

scariest assignment…
Repelling down, on rope, an 18 story building in support of Easter Seals!

uncomfortable situation…
The coldest is probably participating each year in the annual Polar Bear Dip in support of World Vision.

a born adventurer…
No, but this job has made me an adventurer by pushing me to do things I would not have done. It keeps me young!

getting your foot in the door…
Jennifer started her career in 1987 at Citytv as a weekend intern. She was ‘discovered’ when singing at a staff party and was hired first as the Singing Weathergirl.

living in the Beaches…
It’s a small town close in the middle of the city. You can’t go anywhere without seeing someone you know. We love the people, our kids love playing with the other kids, and I’ve made the most amazing friends here.
