letter from the director
This spring has been one unpredictable season! The good weather comes and goes, but one thing we know for sure, the warm sunny days will soon come for us to enjoy and appreciate!
Appreciation and thankfulness come in so many forms, especially this year, when reality hit us; this is the 10th year that we've been publishing the Beaches Living Guide!
When our premier issue was launched in July 2004 at the Beaches Lions' Clubhouse at Ashbridge's Bay, the community and many local businesses owners celebrated with us. From the very beginning, we did not go on this journey alone. You have been with us every step of the way-our readers, local business owners, community groups, volunteers-giving us feedback and encouragement, knowledge, resources, space, and lending us your helpful hands when we needed. The list goes on and on...
Each time you tell us that we have exceeded your expectations, I am thankful and proud of every member of our Beaches Living team. Getting through constant pressure and deadlines, and repeatedly following up and verifying information; it is this dedication and hard work that shows you believe in what we do.
When was last time you celebrated a milestone?
When we compiled a list of businesses in operation in the Beaches for over 10 years, we were "wowed". Turn to pages 40-41 and learn who they are and when you see them, say "congratulations." It's their commitment and dedication shaping up our community!
We apologize if we missed anyone, or if the information needs correcting. Submit your information to beachesliving.ca/10years and we'll publish it online.
We are giving back, more! This milestone year also sets us to accomplish goals from day one; now you can find all local business contacts at our Online Business Directory (beachesliving.ca/directory). Our new Online Garage Sale (beachesliving.ca/garage) helps you to find or post garage sales, and locations on the map. Both basic listings are complementary.
We are privileged that you let us into your home. Thank you for allowing us to share some of the fascinating stories about our past and present, including the stories in this special edition about the places so close to us.
From all of us at Beaches Living, we wish you a COOL summer, See you in the fall!
P.S. All published articles and featured stories are archived online at beachesliving.ca for you to retrieve.
P.P.S. This year also marks our 5th year milestone publishing Beaches|life magazine.
