letter from the director
As the spring flowers unfold and leaves turn pale green, this Spring/Summer issue of the Beaches Living Guide comes to life. The 13th edition since 2004, Beaches Living Spring/ Summer 2010 will be another testament to the wonderful neighbourhood where we live. This spring seems much brighter than last year. The warm weather helped to kick off the season early and the worries of last year have faded, leaving us with a better approach to living and showing us the value of getting back to basics! Many community groups and their volunteers hosted fun and exciting events throughout the year. The Beaches Lion's Club is celebrating their 75 years of service to our community. Congratulations Beaches Lions! Your footprint is found at every corner, anytime of the year, from the Easter Parade to Canada Day celebration at the Kew Gardens, from hosting the marathon event to Christmas Tree Lighting. Special congratulation also goes to our local businesses. You keep your doors open and your services are available in bright sunny days or under grey skies. Our residents are loyal, not only do they support your service, but also are deeply appreciated! We would like to invite you this summer to join our second annual Let's beach! 2010 on June 27 at the Balmy Beach Club. This event brings the community together to celebrate summer. You can mingle with your neighbours, local business owners, artists and community groups while raising money for a good cause. Last year and this year, our supporting charity is the Children's Wish Foundation. Wishing you a blossoming spring and a fruitful summer, Hong Zhao Please send your comments about our featured articles to info@beachesliving.ca.
