Get a TREE for a special occasion, celebration and keep our neighbourhood GREEN!

Get a Free Tree! Urban Forestry Services plants trees on City owned portion of properties in front of your home.

Trees Native to Southern Ontario - The trees  listed below are native or indigenous to Southern Ontario. They are an integral part of the natural environment that has evolved in this region over thousands of years.

Sugar Maple, Black Maple, Silver Maple, Freeman Maple, ‘Autumn Blaze, Red Oak, Bur Oak, White Ash, Green Ash, Black Walnut, Basswood, Tulip Tree, Kentucky Coffeetree, Hackberry, Serviceberry & Skyline Honeylocust.

Interested in a native tree for your backyard? LEAF (Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests) offers a subsidized Backyard Tree Planting Program. The service includes on-site advice on appropriate species and planting location, a 2 metre tall native tree and full planting service.   Native shrubs are also available. The fee is approximately $85 to $150.
