#3. The 21st Annual Spring Sprint is looking for volunteers! This 21st Annual Community event will be held on Sat. April 5. If you would be interested in helping us promote this fun community event, or assisting us on the race day, we'd like to hear from you. Please contact the Beaches Recreation Centre at 6 Williamson Road.416-392-0740. Minimum age requirement: 15 years old. Join the Beaches social group for a casual gathering on Sundays The Sunday social group gets together regularly to relax, have fun and meet new people. Where’s
the beef? Ask Ernie
The Meat on the Beach has been at its current location since 2003 , and about 13 years in total in the Beaches area. However, this butcher's origins run much deeper - three generations and more than 70 years. The Monte family's roots in the meat business
go back to the region of Calabria, Italy. Ernie's grandfather Giuseppe
worked as a butcher. His son Antonio (Ernie's father) learned to be
a butcher as well by working in his father's butcher shop. Antonio
immigrated to Canada in 1956 and made a new life for himself. He bought
a truck and turned it into a mobile store by selling green beans and
