#1. Your trash could be someone else’s treasure! Not-for-profit agencies

If you are looking to clean out any working household items but don't want to see it disappear into land fill, there are not-for-profit agencies that collect donations of goods for reuse or resale.

Agencies want gently used household goods. Before you make a donation, please call to confirm the drop-off location and specifications.

What do you have to donate?

•     Clothing, Housewares, Food & Working Small Appliances
•     Books, Recreational Equipment & Craft Materials

#2. The 21st Annual Spring Sprint is looking for volunteers!

This 21st Annual Community event will be held on Sat. April 5. If you would be interested in helping us promote this fun community event, or assisting us on the race day, we'd like to hear from you. 

Please contact the Beaches Recreation Centre at 6 Williamson Road, 416-392-0740. Minimum age requirement: 15 years old.

 

 


 #3. Come on out, meet your Neighbours!

You are invited to join the Beaches social gathering group on every Sunday afternoon. The Sunday social group gets together regularly to relax, have fun and meet new people.  We explore a variety of places in the neighbourhood and support our community while making new friends.  The group is an opportunity to share ideas and information.

Meeting information: 
Time: Every Sunday afternoon between 3 pm - 5 pm. 
Locations for the following four weeks are:

  • January 27 – Murphy’s Law (Queen st. and Kingston Rd.) 
  • February 3 – Grover Pub (Kingston Rd. and Main St.)
  • February 10 – Castro’s (Queen St. & Wineva Av.)
  • February 17 – Green Dragon (Kingston Rd. & Kingswood Rd.)
